  1. US Government invests $600M for Regional Extension Centers to create resource facilities for doctors’ offices and hospitals to assist them in the adoption and use of health IT solutions and at the same time released $564M for state-level health information exchanges.
  2. The Government of Canada has invested $1.6 billion dollars to date in Infoway’s program to help create an electronic databank of health records for all Canadians. Last February 2009 The Hon. Leona Aglukkaq Minister of Health announced the Governments commitments to invest a further $500 million in Infoway to help create an electronic databank of health records for all Canadians. Six months after the announcement the money has not been released.
  3. The total cost of Ontario’s eHealth Strategy is (an additional) $2.133 billion between 2009-2012.
  4. Prospective Buyers Plan to Purchase. KLAS recently published research identifying the Clinical Information System (CIS) vendors that prospective buyers plan to purchase from, which other vendors would be considered in the process...
