Meet the new nurse graduates
Longwoods, in collaboration with the Academy of Canadian Executive Nurses, and the Canadian Nursing Students' Association, is supporting Canada’s student nurses in a variety of ways. For starters they have selected the Canadian Journal of Nursing Leadership as a journal of choice and we will provide them unlimited access. The Canadian Journal of Nursing Research joins us. The students have also agreed to support initiatives for mentoring, recruiting and continued education. If you would like to participate write us: grads@longwoods.com. Let us know if and how we can introduce you to this year’s graduates and we will send you some innovative ways of making them very interested in your organization.

Here’s just one: Nurses can play a key role as a primary care-giver, the "entry point" for patients into the system. Nurses are in the best position to listen to the patient's complaint, provide nursing care when appropriate, refer them to the appropriate health care provider (such as a nutritionist, psychologist, physiotherapist, physician, or counsellor) and/or follow up as necessary.
