Rumours, plans and spoilers
Planning is rumoured to be well underway for a new hospital in Vaughan, Ontario possibly part of York University’s proposed new medical school. Sources say the Foundation has raised $10m and the Ministry will announce $6m for the detailed physical planning. In the meantime Vaughan’s 240,000 population will soon be served by a Community Health Centre: the model of care for growing communities. According to York’s advisor Dr. Peter Walker, “. . . the sooner we get a response the faster we can get up and going on the final planning and the recruitment of leadership that would be required to run the school (PDF).” Now if York U can just overcome the spoiler -- management/labour relations . . .
