“Good health is perhaps best viewed as a quest - an evolution that takes ongoing commitment and often requires compromise, sacrifice and a lot of simple hard work.” Murray Martin and Cliff Nordal

ESSAY
The Conference Board of Canada published a summary report of benchmarks that rank Canada’s health as 9th best out of 16 selected rich countries. Steven Lewis of Saskatchewan wrote a critical review of the report (click here). Anne Golden, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Conference Board of Canada has responded. She is . . . “surprised and perplexed by his essay, by its snarky and unprofessional tone, its limited ability to appropriately interpret the data presented in the summary, and its poor understanding of benchmarking methodologies.” To read her essay please click here.

OFF THE CUFF
Federal Minister of Health renewed funding of up to $8 million a year, over the next five years, to the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI).
