In the US, healthcare industry executives have formed the eHealth Vulnerability Reporting Program, an initiative created to enhance the security of eHealth systems. The program will establish a framework by which eHealth system developers, their customers and security companies communicate vulnerabilities and aid in determining the most appropriate mitigation strategy.
Emergis Inc. has signed contracts with the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI) to deploy and support a comprehensive, province-wide drug information system (DIS) solution, its Health integration infrastructure, and a thorough change management program to support the adoption of the solution by healthcare professionals. Emergis expects the solution to go online in the first half of 2008.
